Entities Bulk Delete
Reviewers can delete a single entity or entities in bulk. This function allow users to delete entities within the same document, different documents, or across the entire project. Entity deletions are synchronized across the document view, raw entity list, and consolidated entity list, so if you delete entities from one view, they are also deleted from the others.
Note that if the total number of entities to be deleted is less than 1000, they are deleted immediately. For deletions exceeding 1000 entities, the deletion process will be queued and processed in the background.
Reviewers can also delete entities from the Raw Entity View under the Entities tab. To delete a single entity, search for the entity using the search bar, select it, and then click on the trash icon.
A dialog box will appear, asking you to confirm the deletion. Click on the Yes button to confirm the deletion.
Reviewers can delete multiple entities from different documents using bulk-select and bulk-delete in Raw Entity View under the Entities tab.
To delete multiple entities, select them within the current page of the entities list or search for them using the search bar. Selections are not retained across pages, meaning any selected entities will be deselected if you move from page to page.
After selecting all the entities you want to delete within the certain page, click on the trash icon.
A dialog box will appear, asking you to confirm the deletion. Click on the Yes button to confirm the deletion.
A consolidated entity identifies a single, unique person. It results from merging entities from different documents automatically via consolidation rules or manually by reviewers. Deleting a consolidated entity removes all its associated entities across the project.
To delete a single consolidated entity, navigate to the Consolidated View under the Entities tab. Search for the entity to delete using the Search Bar, select it, and click the trash icon.
A dialog box will appear, asking you to confirm the deletion. Click on the Continue button to confirm the deletion. Sample dialog box shown below:

During consolidation, Canopy automatically merges entities referring to the same individual into a master entity based on “consolidation rules”. However, some entities may not fully satisfy all consolidation rules. In such cases, Canopy groups these entities under a grouped master entity. These groups may contain one or more unique master entities, requiring manual review and potential merging by reviewers.
Reviewer can delete a single entity from the grouped entity:
- Navigate to the Consolidated View under the Entities tab.
- View the grouped entities by switching on the Only Grouped Entities.
- Search for a grouped entity that contains the entity you want to delete, and select the “View Detail” button.
- In the detail view, under the “Related Entities” section, find the entity you want to delete. Click on the three-vertical-dot icon, and you will see an option to Delete that specific entity.
- After clicking Delete, a dialog box will appear, asking you to confirm the deletion. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
